"Not a chance" spat Sergeant Hawker with a grunt, there's billions of those things out there."
Four other men sat there in silence, hiding inside the burned out hull of what once must have been a mighty Baneblade superheavy tank. The proud vehicle had taken a hit to the drive tracks, and sat immobilized as thousands of Tyranid monsters swarmed over its hull. It was very overcast the day I found my notice in the databox. I had been drafted into the Imperial Guard as part of Karlon VII's tithe to the Imperium. My heart almost died in my chest as I read the text on the small screen, the seal of the Commissariat emblazoned on the device with the warning that not attending the founding is punishable by death. A vortex of complicated emotions immediately began to flood me.
Happiness at being chosen, fear because there was a strong possibility I might die, pride at being able to wear the uniform and count myself worthy to stand at the Emperor's side at the end of time. I remember running inside to show my family, and the look of jaw dropping shock on their faces as we all began to realize this would be my last night home.
It seems like so long ago since that whole thing happened, but in reality it's only been a few months. You learn to measure your lifetime differently in the Guard. believe it or not,

I draw, I do some digital work, but mostly I build and paint model miniatures. I try and improve my techniques with every project and hopefully some progression is obvious from the photos posted here. If I happen to take some photograph which I like, I will post it here as well.
